Yes... if you don't have a microphone handy, headphones can sometimes be used instead (by plugging them into your computer's microphone port). Please note we accept no responsibility for any explosions that result from you doing this.
Please check your microphone volume is loud enough.
To adjust your microphone volume, please right click on the voice recording widget (on the main page), then select "settings". From here you can select the microphone tab to access the microphone volume slider.

This seems to be a problem with Flash Player and beyond Vocaroo's control. Please try the following to fix:
Are you behind a restrictive firewall? Vocaroo currently requires port 1935 on your network to be open. Other than that, it may just have been a temporary problem, so try again.
If the message is listed in your account control panel, then you can click the "x" link next to it. Be aware that deleting a message will also delete it for anyone you sent it to.
Perhaps you misspelled their email address? You can look in your control panel to see if you used the correct email address for a message.
There is no limit on message length.
Messages recorded anonymously and without an account are now deleted after one year. Messages recorded by logged-in users are currently not deleted.
Further limits may be added in the future if and when Vocaroo's popularity increases.
Yes. Click "download this message" underneath a message. You may need to right click and select "save as" or "download file as" or similar.
In almost all cases this is caused by using a low quality microphone. To improve quality, you could try turning your microphone's volume down (right click on the recorder to access the Flash Player settings), and also try moving further away from the microphone while speaking.
Sound quality might also be improved by standing on your head.
Something's broken somewhere. It may be fixed one day. Please report this problem so we know how often it occurs.

No. Eventually it will cease to exist altogether: The sun will die and go cold, and the small fraction of humanity that leaves Earth will have little need of Vocaroo packed together in a cramped generation ship.
How much $$$, hmm? But on a serious note, we do intend to provide this functionality in the future. Unfortunately, due to other commitments, it may be several months years before we get around to it. If you have a Vocaroo account we'll let you know when it's ready. In the meantime, be sure to send us your feature requests and suggestions!
No. At the time of writing, the iPhone does not support Flash Player.
You can manage, can't you?
Please contact us. We love getting messages.
